Day 1: Luxor East and West Bank Tour

Early in the morning, we will pick you up from your hotel in Hurghada in a private, air-conditioned vehicle and transfer you to Luxor for an overnight stay. Upon arrival, you will be met by your personal tour guide who will accompany you to visit:

Karnak Temple
Karnak Temple is a unique site, where the majesty of the heavens is revealed, surrounding it with unparalleled beauty and grandeur. The temple was known as “Ipet-Isu” (meaning “Most Chosen Place”) and “Beit-Amun” (meaning “House of Amun”) when it was built over 4,000 years ago. Karnak is considered one of the largest religious monuments ever built by humankind for over 1,500 years. It was a center for the worship of various deities, including Osiris, Ptah, and Isis, but was primarily dedicated to the Theban Triad of Amun, Mut, and Khonsu.

Luxor Temple
Built over hundreds of years by Amenhotep III, Ramses II, Tutankhamun, and other pharaohs, Luxor Temple was the largest and most important religious center in ancient Egypt. In Thebes at that time, the Luxor Temple was the “place of the first occasion,” where the god Amun was reborn during the pharaoh’s annual coronation ceremony. Today, the remains of this vast complex include the enormous Great Hypostyle Hall, approximately 61 meters long and featuring 28 columns, each 21 feet tall. Tutankhamun lavishly decorated it around 1330 BC. Many of the temple’s side walls were demolished after the pharaohs’ reign and reused as building materials.

The construction of the Temple of the Revered Queen Hatshepsut is one of the most significant events of the 18th Dynasty. The temple’s exterior features numerous sculptures that belonged to the queen, in whose honor the temple was built.

Colossi of Memnon
Completed around 1350 BC, the Colossi of Memnon were already a popular tourist destination by the Greco-Roman period, more than a thousand years later. Legend says that the northernmost statue whistled at sunrise, possibly due to a crack in its body caused by an earthquake in 27 BC. Ancient Greek and Roman visitors attributed the statues to the African king Memnon and considered hearing the statue’s song a good omen, believing it to be the king’s cry greeting his mother, Eos, the goddess of dawn.

Day 2: 4:00 AM – Hot Air Balloon Ride in Luxor
